How Often to Water New Sod

First 2 weeks

Water 2–3 times per day, enough to soak the top 1–2 inches. Avoid puddles.

Weeks 3–4

Water once daily, early in the morning. Reduce slowly as roots take hold.

After 1 month

Transition to every other day, then 2–3 times per week. Watch for heat stress during hot spells.
